Apple Fitness+ Expansion and New Features
Following the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple detailed upcoming enhancements to Fitness+, its workout service specifically created for Apple Watch users.
The subscription service, currently priced at $9.99 per month, is presently accessible in six nations, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Expanded Global Availability
During today’s announcement, Apple revealed that Fitness+ will be launching in numerous additional countries this autumn.
This expansion includes regions such as Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, France, Italy, Russia, and several others.
To broaden accessibility, content will be provided with subtitles in six different languages.
New Content Categories
Apple also confirmed the addition of new Pilates and guided meditation programs for Fitness+ subscribers, beginning this fall.
Daily guided meditations will be incorporated, centering on themes of gratitude, mindfulness, and relaxation.
These sessions will be offered in both video and audio formats, potentially challenging established apps like Headspace and Calm.
Introducing Group Workouts with SharePlay
This fall, Fitness+ will introduce Group Workouts, leveraging the capabilities of SharePlay.
This feature allows subscribers to work out with friends remotely through FaceTime or shared message threads, regardless of location.
A maximum of 32 participants can engage in a workout session simultaneously.
This new functionality aims to foster a more social and motivating fitness experience.
