Anthropic Secures $13 Billion in Series F Funding
Anthropic, a leading artificial intelligence firm, has successfully completed a $13 billion Series F funding round.
This investment elevates the company’s post-money valuation to $183 billion.
Funding Allocation and Growth Strategy
The newly acquired capital will be strategically allocated to several key areas.
- Expanding enterprise adoption of its AI solutions.
- Deepening research focused on AI safety.
- Supporting ongoing international expansion efforts.
Investment Leadership and Participants
Iconiq, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners jointly led the funding round.
A diverse group of investors participated, including institutional investors, venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, private equity entities, and asset managers.
Notable backers include Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, Insight Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, and the Qatar Investment Authority.
Financial Performance and Customer Growth
“We are experiencing rapid growth in demand from our entire customer base,” stated Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic.
“This financing reflects strong investor confidence in our financial performance and collaborative partnerships to sustain our exceptional growth trajectory.”
Anthropic previously raised $3.5 billion in March 2025, achieving a $61.5 billion post-money valuation.
Recent Revenue Surge
The latest funding round follows reports indicating Anthropic was poised to secure between $3 billion and $5 billion at a $170 billion valuation.
The company has demonstrated significant growth, with annual recurring revenue increasing from $1 billion to $5 billion throughout 2025.
This surge is attributed to increased API usage and wider enterprise adoption.
Expanding Customer Base
Anthropic currently serves over 300,000 business customers.
The number of large accounts – defined as customers generating over $100,000 in annual revenue – has increased nearly sevenfold in the past year.
Claude Code's Contribution
Claude Code has emerged as a popular tool among developers and a major driver of Anthropic’s growth.
The company reports that its vibe-coding product currently generates over $500 million in annual revenue, with usage growing more than tenfold in the last three months.
Navigating Investment Challenges
Maintaining growth and competing effectively with companies like OpenAI and Cursor necessitates further investment.
CEO Dario Amodei acknowledged the complexities of accepting funds from sovereign wealth funds associated with authoritarian regimes.
He noted the difficulty of excluding all potentially problematic investors while operating a successful business.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available…
