Claude Voice Mode: Anthropic Reportedly Adding Voice Capabilities

Anthropic Developing Voice Functionality for Claude
A recent report indicates that the AI company, Anthropic, is currently developing voice interaction capabilities for its AI chatbot, Claude.
Plans for Voice Interaction
Mike Krieger, Anthropic’s Chief Product Officer, revealed to the Financial Times that the company intends to introduce features enabling users to communicate with Claude through voice commands.
Krieger explained that as Claude for desktop evolves, a more intuitive interface could involve speaking directly to the AI model. He stated, “If it is going to be operating your computer, a more natural user interface might be to [speak to it].”
Internal Development and Potential Partnerships
Anthropic is actively developing voice technology internally, recognizing its value as a communication method. Prototypes are already in existence.
The report further highlights that Anthropic has engaged in discussions with Amazon, a significant investor and partner, as well as ElevenLabs, a startup specializing in voice-focused AI.
These conversations explored potential collaborations to accelerate the integration of voice features into Claude. However, the Financial Times notes that no definitive agreements have been reached at this time.
Accelerating Voice Feature Launch
Krieger confirmed that Anthropic has been in contact with multiple potential partners to expedite the availability of a voice-enabled experience for users.
The company is exploring various avenues to quickly implement this functionality.
