Amazon AI Tool: Enhance Product Listings - New Release

Amazon Launches AI-Powered Listing Enhancement Tool

Amazon announced on Thursday the release of a new, generative AI-driven tool designed to assist merchants in optimizing their product listings. This new functionality focuses on identifying and adding missing details and attributes.

Addressing Seller Challenges

Many sellers manage extensive product catalogs on Amazon, necessitating frequent updates to product information. This process can be quite time-consuming. The e-commerce leader aims to streamline this task with its Enhance My Listing tool.

The tool functions by automatically proposing improvements to product titles, key attributes, descriptions, and any incomplete information. These suggestions are informed by current seasonal trends.

How Enhance My Listing Works

Sellers retain full control, with the ability to accept, reject, or further refine the AI-generated suggestions before implementing changes to their Amazon product listings.

Amazon leverages its Amazon Bedrock service, utilizing generative AI models to analyze customer interactions and derive valuable insights. The initial rollout of Enhance My Listing is beginning today with a select group of U.S. sellers, with broader availability planned in the coming weeks.

Evolution of AI Tools for Sellers

Amazon first introduced generative AI capabilities for sellers in 2023, beginning with a feature to assist in crafting product descriptions. Further enhancements followed in March 2024.

The March update included a tool enabling sellers to generate listings by simply providing a product URL from their own website. Alternatively, sellers can initiate listing creation by uploading a single image or entering a brief text prompt.

Adoption and Usage Statistics

To date, over 900,000 sellers have utilized Amazon’s generative AI tools. Notably, more than 90% of the time, merchants accept the AI-generated content as-is, without modifications.

It’s important to note that this high acceptance rate doesn’t automatically confirm the absolute accuracy of the tool’s output; it may indicate that some sellers are not thoroughly reviewing the suggested changes.

Competitive Landscape

Amazon is not alone in integrating generative AI into marketing solutions. Companies such as Google, eBay, Meta, and Shopify have also released similar tools.

Furthermore, a number of startups, including Avataar and Superscale, are actively developing AI-powered applications to help sellers create marketing materials.
