Amazon Halo View: Pre-orders Now Available

During its September hardware showcase, Amazon unveiled an updated iteration of its Halo fitness tracker, and pre-ordering is now possible. The Halo View, representing Amazon’s inaugural wearable featuring a display screen, is currently available for $50 throughout the pre-order phase.

The standard retail price is expected to be $80. Shipments of the device are anticipated to commence at some point in December.

Included Halo Membership

A one-year Halo membership is bundled with the device. This subscription provides access to guided workouts and nutritional advice, typically priced at $4 monthly.

Design and Display

The Halo View’s design bears a resemblance to the Fitbit Charge series of fitness bands. Its AMOLED color screen showcases real-time workout data, historical activity levels, blood oxygen saturation, and sleep analysis scores.

Certain features, however, are exclusively accessible with an active Halo subscription. Text message notifications can also be viewed directly on the device.

Sensors and Battery Life

This swim-proof wearable incorporates a skin temperature sensor, a heart rate monitor, and an accelerometer. Amazon states the battery is capable of lasting up to seven days on a single charge.

A full recharge is achievable within two hours.

Alexa Integration and Privacy

Despite the absence of an integrated microphone, the Halo View offers compatibility with Alexa. Through the Halo app settings, users can connect to Alexa-enabled devices.

This allows for voice-activated requests regarding health summaries, sleep patterns, and other relevant data.

Amazon emphasizes that privacy was a central focus during the design process. The company asserts the implementation of multiple security layers to safeguard data and maintain user control.

Furthermore, Amazon has committed to refraining from selling personally identifiable health data. Users retain the ability to download or delete their health data from the Halo application at any time.
