Amazon Luna Revamp: New Features & Updates - Cloud Gaming

Amazon Luna Receives a Significant Update with GameNight
Amazon announced a substantial overhaul of its game-streaming platform, Amazon Luna, on Thursday. This update introduces a selection of accessible multiplayer games playable directly from your smartphone.
A key benefit remains that Amazon Luna is offered at no additional charge for subscribers to Amazon Prime.
Introducing GameNight: Multiplayer Gaming for Everyone
The most prominent addition is GameNight, a curated collection of over 25 local multiplayer games. Amazon designed these titles to foster social interaction and entertainment within households.
GameNight will showcase exclusive games developed internally by Amazon Game Studios. The initial offering is “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg,” a unique courtroom game powered by AI voice technology.
“Courtroom Chaos” and Other GameNight Titles
“Courtroom Chaos” challenges players to create outlandish characters and present compelling, yet often absurd, defenses before Judge Snoop Dogg. The game relies on improvisation and storytelling.
Beyond “Courtroom Chaos,” GameNight features popular titles such as “Angry Birds Flock Party,” “Draw & Guess,” “The Jackbox Party Pack 9,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Exploding Kittens 2,” “Clue,” and “Tetris Effect: Connected.”
Expanding Luna’s Appeal with Mobile Accessibility
By integrating a library of mobile-friendly multiplayer games, Amazon aims to position Luna as a go-to choice for social gaming and virtual gatherings among Prime members.
Jeff Gattis, General Manager of Amazon Luna, stated in a press release, “GameNight further enhances the ease of access that defines the new Luna, providing a collection of incredibly enjoyable and approachable games perfect for playing with friends and family.”
He continued, “A smartphone is all that’s needed to jump in and have fun, regardless of prior gaming experience.”
Beyond GameNight: A Wider Selection of Games
Luna’s updated catalog also includes access to new, high-profile titles like “Hogwarts Legacy,” “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II,” and “TopSpin 2K25.”
The platform continues to offer a diverse range of blockbuster games, beloved classics, and independent titles. Note that these games, outside of the GameNight library, typically require a traditional controller or a mouse and keyboard for optimal gameplay.
Luna Premium Subscription
For gamers seeking an even more extensive library, a subscription to Luna Premium – formerly known as Luna+ – is available for $9.99 per month.
Luna Premium unlocks access to titles like “EA SPORTS FC 25,” “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight,” providing a broader gaming experience.
