Amazon AI Agent for Sellers: Automate Tasks & Grow Your Business

Amazon Launches AI-Powered Assistant for Sellers

Amazon revealed on Wednesday the introduction of a continuously active AI agent designed to support sellers operating on its marketplace. This update focuses on enhancing Seller Assistant, the company’s AI tool specifically created for third-party vendors, to automate various business functions.

Enhanced Capabilities of Seller Assistant

According to Amazon, the new agentic AI features are engineered to integrate smoothly into the entire selling process. This allows sellers to transition from managing all tasks independently to collaborating with an intelligent assistant that proactively works on their behalf 24/7, all while maintaining seller oversight.

The updated Seller Assistant is now capable of managing tasks ranging from everyday operations to intricate business planning, enabling sellers to concentrate on innovation and expansion.

Proactive Inventory and Account Management

Beyond simply monitoring account status and inventory levels, Seller Assistant can now formulate strategies and execute actions with appropriate authorization.

For instance, while a seller reviews their inventory, the assistant will identify slow-selling items before incurring long-term storage charges. It will then suggest options such as maintaining the current status, reducing the price, or removing the product entirely.

Furthermore, Seller Assistant can analyze demand trends and generate optimized shipment recommendations.

Compliance and Safety Monitoring

The assistant provides continuous monitoring of a seller’s account, highlighting potential problems and suggesting necessary actions. This includes identifying inventory listings that may not comply with evolving product safety regulations.

It can also automatically verify that all products adhere to compliance standards in each country where they are sold.

The Rise of Agent-Driven Commerce

The development of agent-driven commerce is currently a major focus within the technology sector. The vision is a future where AI agents can initiate transactions or make purchases on behalf of their users.

Notably, Google recently unveiled a new payment protocol for agentic transactions, though Amazon was not included as a partner in this initiative.

Expanding AI into Advertising

Amazon also announced the integration of agentic AI into its advertising services, allowing sellers to create advertisements using conversational prompts.

Continued Investment in AI Tools

This announcement represents the latest in a series of AI tools Amazon has introduced for third-party sellers. Other recently released tools include a video generator for ad creation and a generative AI tool designed to help merchants optimize their product listings.
