Amazon Wall-Mounted Echo with Display Reportedly in Development

Amazon's Upcoming Device Lineup

Amazon is currently developing a range of new devices. These include a wall-mountable Echo with a 15-inch display, a soundbar, advancements in Echo Auto technology, and wearable devices.

New Echo with Wall-Mount Display

A significant product in development is an Alexa-enabled Echo featuring approximately a 15-inch display. Internally referred to as “Hoya,” this device is designed for versatile placement.

It can function as a standard Echo on a stand or be mounted directly onto a wall. This functionality positions it as a central hub for smart-home control.

Users will be able to manage lights, security cameras, door locks, and other connected devices. The display will also showcase information like weather updates, timers, scheduled appointments, and digital photos.

Specifically, the device is intended for kitchen use, offering recipe viewing and access to YouTube cooking tutorials. Streaming services like Netflix and other applications will also be supported.

Amazon Soundbar – Harmony

The company is also preparing to unveil a soundbar, codenamed “Harmony.” This product is intended to complement a potential line of Amazon-branded televisions.

Unlike existing third-party soundbars with Alexa integration, this model will incorporate a front-facing camera. This feature will enable video calls directly from televisions, similar to the functionality offered by Facebook’s Portal TV.

Echo Auto Updates

A new iteration of Echo Auto, known internally as “Marion,” is reportedly under development. This updated version is expected to feature a redesigned aesthetic.

Furthermore, it will incorporate inductive charging capabilities for compatible devices. Amazon currently collaborates with Ford to integrate Alexa into 700,000 vehicles.

The company is also exploring partnerships with additional automotive manufacturers to expand the availability of Alexa in vehicles.

Additional Devices and Technologies

Further development includes new Echo speakers planned for release in 2022. Wearable technology is also being created for both children and seniors.

The senior-focused wearables will include fall detection features. Amazon is also investing in dedicated processors to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities.

New technologies are being developed to improve interoperability between Fire TV, Echo, and other Amazon devices.

Experimental Projects

Amazon has explored several more unconventional projects. A home robot, codenamed “Vesta,” was in development, designed to utilize the Alexa interface.

An Alexa-powered karaoke microphone was also considered, however, the team assigned to that project has reportedly been dissolved.
