Users can now provide Alexa+ with documents, enabling the assistant to retain crucial information and respond to queries based on the content.
Mara Segal, Director of Alexa, illustrated this functionality with a practical example.
She inquired, “From grandma’s zucchini bread recipe, how much oil did it need?” and Alexa+ successfully retrieved the answer from a previously uploaded recipe.

The system isn't limited to simple recipes; it can also handle more intricate documents.
For instance, a user can upload documents from their Homeowners Association (HOA) and pose questions regarding the established guidelines.
This addresses a common issue, as HOA guidelines are often extensive and frequently overlooked.
Email Management and Calendar Integration
Alexa+ also streamlines email management and calendar organization.
Users can forward multiple emails, such as those from a child’s school, to Alexa+.
The assistant will then extract and summarize the most important details from these communications.
Furthermore, it can integrate with calendars to help users avoid missing crucial school events.
Enhanced Entertainment and Smart Home Control
Amazon showcased additional features during the event, expanding beyond information retrieval.
These included the ability to navigate directly to specific scenes within Prime Video movies.
Alexa+ also provides improved control over smart home devices.
This allows users to seamlessly transfer music playback between speakers located in different rooms.
