Alexa on Fire TV: AI-Powered Conversations Now Available

Amazon Enhances Fire TV with Advanced AI Capabilities
During its fall hardware event, Amazon unveiled plans to integrate its enhanced AI, Alexa+, into its Fire TV devices. This upgrade promises to significantly expand the functionality available to users.
Fire TV users will gain access to more sophisticated features, including the ability to pose complex inquiries to the AI and receive highly personalized recommendations.
Expanded Recommendation and Information Access
Previously, Alexa+ on Fire TV could handle basic recommendation requests, such as finding a suitable family movie. Now, the AI can suggest content based on recently completed shows or preferences for specific actors.
Furthermore, users can now engage with Alexa+ while content is playing, requesting information about filming locations, actor backgrounds, soundtracks, or behind-the-scenes details.
Real-Time Sports Updates and Scene Discovery
For sports enthusiasts, Alexa+ will provide live scores, player statistics, and access to events streamed via Prime Video, Sling TV, DirecTV, and Fubo. Information regarding past game highlights and commentary will also be available.
A new feature allows users to locate specific scenes within a movie or show using natural language voice commands. This functionality is initially available for “thousands” of titles on Prime Video, with broader platform support planned.
Software Improvements and New Device Lineup
The Fire TV software interface is also receiving updates, focusing on enhancements to the Channel Guide, Watchlist, Continue Watching row, and live TV/sports discovery.
Amazon simultaneously announced a new range of Fire TV devices, including the 2-Series, 4-Series, Omni QLED TVs, and the Fire TV 4K Select streaming stick.
These new devices will be the first to support the Alexa+ upgrade, alongside select models from Panasonic and Hisense.
Market Reach and Future Plans
Amazon has launched 250 televisions with its hardware partners in 2025 alone, according to Aidan Marcuss, VP of Fire TV.
To date, nearly 300 million Fire TV devices have been purchased by consumers worldwide.
Introducing the Fire TV Omni QLED Series
The flagship Fire TV Omni QLED Series boasts adaptive brightness adjustment and automatic activation upon room entry.
This new line is 60% brighter than previous models, featuring doubled local dimming zones for enhanced contrast and clarity. It also incorporates an upgraded processor, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10+ Adaptive technology.
Pricing for the Fire TV Omni QLED Series begins at $479.99, with options available in 50”, 55”, 65”, and 75” screen sizes.
Enhanced Features Across the Fire TV Range
The Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series will also incorporate the auto-adjusting brightness feature, known as “Omnisense,” and a new “Dialogue Boost” function to improve speech clarity.
Both series benefit from a 30% performance increase thanks to a new quad-core processor.
The 2-Series starts at $159.99, available in 32” and 40” sizes, while the 4-Series begins at $329.99, offered in 43”, 50”, and 55” sizes.
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select ($39.99) is a budget-friendly 4K streaming device with HDR 10+ support, powered by Amazon’s new Vega OS.
It offers compatibility with all major streaming services and will soon support Alexa+, Xbox Gaming, and Luna.
