WisdomAI Secures $50 Million in Series A Funding
WisdomAI, a recently established AI-driven data analytics startup founded by Rubrik’s co-founder, Soham Mazumdar, has successfully raised $50 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Kleiner Perkins, with additional participation from NVentures, the venture capital division of Nvidia.
Seed Funding and Company Overview
This latest funding arrives approximately six months following the startup’s initial seed round, which totaled $23 million and was led by Coatue.
AI-Powered Data Analysis Capabilities
WisdomAI specializes in providing AI-powered data analytics solutions. These solutions are designed to address complex business inquiries using a variety of data types, including structured, unstructured, and imperfect datasets – those containing errors or inconsistencies.
Users can pose questions in everyday language, for example, “What is the current size of my sales pipeline and what factors are hindering deal closures this quarter?” The system then interprets these queries and retrieves relevant insights.
Mitigating LLM Hallucinations
The company employs a unique strategy to minimize the risk of LLM (Large Language Model) hallucinations. Instead of relying on LLMs to generate answers directly, WisdomAI utilizes them solely for crafting the data query itself.
Consequently, any inaccuracies generated by the LLM will result in an ineffective query, rather than the fabrication of incorrect responses.
Enterprise Context Layer and Founding Team
WisdomAI has developed its own proprietary system, termed the “enterprise context layer.” This layer analyzes customer data to gain a comprehensive understanding of its nuances.
The entire founding team previously collaborated with Mazumdar at Rubrik, a data security firm, bringing substantial experience in enterprise data storage solutions to the new venture. (Mazumdar departed from Rubrik in 2023.)
Rapid Customer Growth
Since its official launch in late 2024, WisdomAI has experienced significant growth. The company has expanded its customer base from an initial two enterprise clients to approximately 40.
Notable customers include Descope, ConocoPhillips, Cisco, and Patreon.
Increased User Engagement
CEO Mazumdar reports a notable increase in product usage among existing customers. Some organizations have doubled their usage within a two-month period.
One customer notably increased its user licenses from 10 to 450, encompassing nearly the entire workforce.
Agentic Features and Real-Time Alerts
Over the past six months, WisdomAI has introduced an agentic feature that provides users with real-time notifications regarding significant changes in monitored areas.
Mazumdar explains that he created an agent to monitor product usage metrics and support ticket data, a process that took approximately five minutes.
Instead of receiving periodic reports, the agent proactively alerts him “when something noteworthy occurs.”
Dynamic and Proactive Analytics
“We are transforming analytics from a static reporting tool into a dynamic and proactive system,” Mazumdar stated. “This represents a fundamental shift in how businesses leverage data insights.”
