Versatile AI: $20M Series A Funding for Construction Tech

Versatile, a construction technology company headquartered in San Francisco, today announced the completion of a $20 million Series A funding round. This investment was spearheaded by Insight Partners and Entree Capital, with participation from returning investors including Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH, Root Ventures, and Conductive Ventures.

This new funding builds upon previous investments totaling $8.5 million, which included a $5.5 million seed round secured in August of the previous year.

Having participated in the URBAN-X accelerator program, Versatile has created a specialized hardware device intended for installation on construction cranes. This device is engineered to collect and interpret data throughout the construction environment.

“Effective improvement requires accurate measurement, and Versatile is only beginning to explore the possibilities of leveraging data to enhance value for our customers and transform construction sites into highly efficient, data-driven manufacturing processes with rapid response times,” stated Meirav Oren, co-founder and CEO, in a company announcement.

According to the company, the collected data enables a comprehensive overview of construction advancement, alongside details regarding on-site materials, and identification of any unnecessary duplication of resources.

Given the approximately $10 trillion in annual global construction expenditures, the industry is well-positioned to attract substantial investment, especially for companies offering solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Versatile plans to utilize the new funding to expedite the rollout of its technology and to further develop artificial intelligence capabilities for its user base.
