ChatGPT Go Now Available in Indonesia - Affordable Plan Launched

OpenAI Extends ChatGPT Go to Indonesia
OpenAI is broadening the availability of its affordable ChatGPT Go subscription service, moving beyond its initial launch in India. Following a successful debut in India last month, the company is now introducing the same plan to users in Indonesia.
ChatGPT Go Pricing and Availability
In Indonesia, ChatGPT Go will be offered at a monthly cost of Rp 75,000, which translates to approximately $4.50. This expansion signifies OpenAI’s commitment to making its AI technology accessible to a wider global audience.
Plan Features and Benefits
ChatGPT Go is positioned as an intermediate subscription tier, bridging the gap between OpenAI’s complimentary offering and the more comprehensive ChatGPT Plus plan priced at $20 per month. Subscribers to ChatGPT Go benefit from usage limits that are ten times greater than those available to free users.
These increased limits apply to various functionalities, including submitting queries, generating images, and uploading files. Furthermore, the plan enhances ChatGPT’s ability to retain context from prior interactions.
According to Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT, this improved memory function facilitates more tailored and relevant responses as users continue their conversations.
Growth in India and Competitive Landscape
Since the introduction of ChatGPT Go in India, OpenAI has observed a substantial increase in paid subscribers, with numbers more than doubling. This positive trend underscores the demand for affordable AI access.
This strategic move places OpenAI in direct competition with Google, which recently launched its own comparable AI Plus subscription plan in Indonesia.
Google's AI Plus Offering
Google’s AI Plus plan provides access to its Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, alongside a suite of creative tools. These tools include Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast, designed for image and video creation.
The Google plan also incorporates enhanced features for its NotebookLM AI research assistant and integrates AI capabilities into popular productivity applications like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets.
Additionally, subscribers receive 200GB of cloud storage as part of the AI Plus package.
