Adobe Photoshop, Express & Acrobat Now in ChatGPT - AI Integration

Adobe Integrates AI Features into ChatGPT

Adobe is significantly expanding its AI-driven strategy, aiming to attract a wider user base to its suite of products. The company announced on Wednesday the addition of functionalities from Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat directly within ChatGPT.

This integration allows users to instruct the chatbot to leverage these applications for tasks such as image editing, PDF modification, and element animation.

Enhanced Image Editing with Photoshop

Users can now prompt ChatGPT to utilize Photoshop for precise image manipulations. This includes the ability to edit specific image sections, remove or blur backgrounds, and fine-tune exposure, brightness, and contrast.

Furthermore, a range of effects can be applied, with the chatbot providing controls to adjust their intensity via sliders.

Creative Capabilities with Adobe Express

With the inclusion of Adobe Express support, ChatGPT can now facilitate tasks like retrieving pre-existing designs from its library.

It can also assemble themed creative content, animate elements, and perform general design edits.

PDF Management with Acrobat

Leveraging Acrobat’s PDF editing capabilities, ChatGPT is now capable of merging files.

It can also extract or edit text and tables contained within PDF documents.

Should users prefer a more hands-on approach, an option is provided to seamlessly transition to Adobe’s native applications for further refinement or to access features unavailable within ChatGPT.

Global Availability and Platform Support

Adobe confirmed that these features are being rolled out globally.

While functionalities from all three Adobe applications are accessible on ChatGPT’s desktop, web, and iOS versions, Adobe Express is currently the only supported application on ChatGPT for Android.

Support for Photoshop and Acrobat on Android is anticipated to be implemented shortly.

Recent AI Initiatives from Adobe

Adobe has been actively releasing numerous AI-powered features and products throughout the year.

In October, the company launched AI assistants for both Express and Photoshop, and also previewed a cross-application assistant known as Project Moonlight.

Expanding Ecosystem of Third-Party Integrations

OpenAI initiated support for third-party applications within ChatGPT in October, beginning with integrations like Canva, Spotify, Expedia, and Figma.

As more companies integrate their applications into the popular chatbot, a key challenge will be encouraging users to choose their app over competitors within the ChatGPT environment.

For example, both Canva and Photoshop can be used for image editing through the chatbot, but users without a pre-existing preference may not gravitate towards one over the other.
