Adding Disk Cleanup to Drive Right-Click Menu

This registry modification, shared by forum member jd2066, streamlines access to the Disk Cleanup utility. Traditionally, users navigate through the Start Menu or drive properties to launch this tool.

Instead, a simple registry adjustment introduces a dedicated menu option directly into the drive's right-click context menu.

Using the Registry Hack

Following implementation, a right-click on any drive will reveal the "Disk Cleanup" option within the menu.

Manual Registry Hack Implementation

Access the Registry Editor (regedit) via the Start Menu search or the Run dialog box. Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

Subsequently, create another key nested under "diskcleanup" named "command". Assign the following value to it:

cleanmgr.exe /d %1

The modification takes effect immediately. A right-click on any drive should now display the newly added menu item.

Downloadable Registry Hack

For convenience, a pre-configured registry file is available. Download, extract, and double-click DiskCleanupDriveMenu.reg to import the necessary settings.

To revert the changes, utilize the included RemoveDiskCleanupDriveMenu.reg file.
