Browser View Plus - Access Multiple Browsers in Firefox

Simplify Webpage Viewing with Browser View Plus

Do you find yourself frequently needing to copy links and paste them into different browsers to view webpages? Browser View Plus offers a streamlined solution, enabling you to open webpages in your preferred browser with a single click or right-click.

Extension Options Setup

Following the installation of Browser View Plus, configuring the extension's options is the initial step. The first tab allows you to designate up to four browsers for access via your Right-Click Menu.

You also have the flexibility to hide individual browsers, preventing their appearance in the Right-Click Menu.

You can choose to utilize the four browsers that Browser View Plus automatically detects upon installation, a combination of default and custom browsers, or exclusively custom browsers.

In our demonstration, we selected three custom browsers – SeaMonkey, Flock, and Orca – to be displayed in the Right-Click Menu. The option to hide these three was enabled, while “None” was chosen for the fourth browser option.

It’s worth noting that you can select “None” for all four browser choices, or hide all four, to maintain a cleaner Right-Click Menu.

The second tab reveals that Browser View Plus has identified all four default browsers installed on our example system and has already determined their respective target paths.

Note: Toolbar buttons for these four browsers are included as part of the add-on installation.

Based on the selections made in the first tab, we browsed for the executable files of SeaMonkey, Flock, and Orca to establish their target paths for the extension.

The third and final tab provides settings for two additional toolbar buttons, as well as an option for utilizing Chrome – allowing links to be opened either in Chrome itself or within a Chrome Application Window.

Currently, the left-click options for these two additional toolbar buttons are identical. If you intend to use both, you will need to adjust their settings accordingly.

We opted to use “External/Other Browsers #1 & #2” for these additional buttons.

Toolbar Configuration

Now, let’s add those toolbar buttons! Right-click on your browser’s toolbar and select “Customize”. A total of six buttons are available (each including “BVP” in the name) that you can add to any of your toolbars.

Position them according to your preference.

Launching External Browsers

All six buttons have been configured in the upper right corner of our example browser and are ready for use.

Note: These buttons may appear slightly smaller than other toolbar buttons.

Clicking on each button will launch Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and the two additional browsers you have selected.

Here, all six browsers chosen for our example are open simultaneously.

Right-clicking on a link will grant you access to the browsers you have chosen (if any) in the first tab of the options window.

Here, our seventh browser is accessed seamlessly through the Right-Click Menu.

In Conclusion

Browser View Plus is a valuable extension for those who frequently need to open links in multiple browsers.

A significant advantage is the flexibility to use only the toolbar buttons, only the Right-Click Menu option, or a combination of both, based on your individual preferences.
