Discovering Convenient Reminder Tools

This article presents a selection of unique and user-friendly reminder tools designed to help manage daily tasks. All the options discussed are available at no cost and offer distinct functionalities.

Jott (Service Discontinued)

Previously, Jott stood out as a highly effective reminder service accessible from any telephone within the United States. Users could simply dial the JOTT number (1-866-JOTT-123) and record a message, which would then be transcribed and delivered to their email address as text.

Key features included:

  • The ability to record and categorize messages (such as expenses, reminders, ToDos, and Work items).
  • Facilitating communication with teams and enabling task delegation to groups.
  • Accessing Jott via multiple phone numbers by calling 1-866-JOTT-123.

PingMe (Service Discontinued)

PingMe functioned as a hybrid between an online calendar and a task manager, incorporating a range of helpful email alert features. PingMe reminders, referred to as 'Pings', could be scheduled through a web account and delivered via email or text message.

Several alert settings were available, including options for recurring alerts (daily, weekly, etc.) and a 'pester' mode that would repeatedly notify the user every 10 minutes until a response was provided (stop, postpone for 2 hours, etc.).

WakerUpper & CallTheFuture

WakerUpper and CallTheFuture are exceptionally straightforward services for scheduling one-time calls. These are ideal for setting wake-up calls or event reminders, and require no user registration.

LetterMeLater

LetterMeLater integrates reminder scheduling directly into your email inbox. It allows you to schedule emails for future delivery from within your email client (Outlook, Gmail, etc.).

Scheduled emails can be sent to yourself or any other email address. This tool is particularly useful for individuals who spend a significant amount of time managing email.

HassleMe is designed for setting reminders about tasks you frequently postpone, such as 'stop procrastinating' or 'get back to work'. A unique aspect of HassleMe is its delivery of emails at unpredictable intervals, ensuring you are never quite sure when to expect a reminder.
