Carjacking Incident Involving Former Neuralink Intern

Two individuals, both 15 years of age, are facing charges related to unarmed carjacking. The alleged incident involved an attack on Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, a 19-year-old software engineer.

Coristine previously held a position as an intern at Neuralink and gained recognition for his work within the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Details of the Attack

Local authorities report that Coristine, who recently rejoined federal service at the Social Security Administration after a brief departure from DOGE in June, was with a female companion.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday in Washington D.C.’s Logan Circle. A group of approximately ten teenagers reportedly surrounded their vehicle and expressed intentions to steal it.

Coristine acted to protect his friend by guiding her inside the car before attempting to address the group. He was subsequently attacked by the group until police arrived.

The arrival of law enforcement was prompted by a 911 call made by Coristine’s companion.

Reactions and Calls for Action

On Tuesday, Elon Musk publicly commended Coristine’s courage via his social media platform, X.

Separately, President Trump shared an image depicting Coristine’s injuries on Truth Social.

This sharing was used as a platform to advocate for the prosecution of teenagers aged 14 and above as adults, and to propose federal control over Washington D.C.’s law enforcement.
