TikTok Video Resumes: Apply for Jobs with Video!

TikTok Launches Pilot Program for Video Resumes
TikTok is introducing a new pilot program designed to integrate elements of professional networking, similar to LinkedIn, into its platform.
Beginning today, users will have the opportunity to submit video resumes to a selection of companies. Participating organizations include Target, Chipotle, Shopify, Meredith, NASCAR, and the WWE.
Expanding Brand and Creator Relationships
This initiative represents TikTok’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the connection between brands and content creators. It provides increased incentive for both parties to dedicate resources to the platform.
Nick Tran, TikTok’s Global Head of Marketing, stated that the platform’s existing “#CareerTok” community is already vibrant. He expressed excitement about how users will utilize TikTok Resumes to redefine recruitment and job searching.
How the Program Works
The pilot program is accessible through the hashtag #TikTokResumes and a dedicated website, tiktokresumes.com. This site offers guidance for applicants and showcases example videos.
Users can browse available positions by employer and complete a brief questionnaire. They can then submit their video resume link. Linking to a LinkedIn profile is also suggested.
A Natural Extension of Existing Programs
TikTok views this program as a logical progression from its college ambassador program. This existing program recruits students to promote the social network on campuses.
The acceptance of TikTok resumes will continue through July 31st.
Variety of Job Openings
The available positions encompass a wide range of roles. Some listings are for standard positions, such as a sales representative at NASCAR or warehouse staff at Target.
Other opportunities are specifically geared towards individuals with TikTok skills. For example, All Recipes is seeking on-camera talent, and Popsugar is hiring a supervising social producer.
Adapting to the Creator Economy
While the traditional resume format remains largely unchanged, this program offers a novel approach for companies seeking social media managers or content creators. It represents a valuable experiment within the evolving creator economy.
