Ring Home Security Drone: US Launch & Invite Details

Ring’s Always Home Cam: Now Available to Select Users
Ring initially unveiled its innovative Always Home Cam last year, presenting a novel approach to in-home security. This device features a drone with integrated sensors and a camera, capable of autonomously patrolling the interior of a home.
Autonomous Indoor Surveillance
The Always Home Cam operates by following user-defined flight paths. It responds to various triggers, such as alerts from a Ring Alarm system, or direct commands issued through the Ring application.
Currently, the device is beginning to ship to customers within the United States, although access is initially limited to those with an invitation.
Device Specifications and Functionality
Unveiled over a year ago, the Always Home Cam is priced at $249 and was originally slated for release in 2021. This timeline has now been met with the commencement of shipments.
Its compact size – approximately 5″ x 7″ x 7″ – is designed to facilitate maneuverability within a home’s interior spaces.
The core concept behind this technology is to offer comprehensive indoor camera coverage without the need for numerous stationary cameras positioned throughout the property.
Privacy and Operational Safeguards
Ring emphasizes that the Always Home Cam will only become airborne when explicitly instructed by the user, either through pre-configured settings or manual activation.
Furthermore, the cameras and recording functions remain inactive while the drone is docked at its base. This deliberate design choice is intended to enhance user privacy and security.
How to Request Access
Individuals interested in participating in the early adoption of this advanced surveillance system can request an invitation from Ring, starting today, to be added to the waiting list.
This allows users to be among the first to experience the next evolution in aerial home monitoring.
