Developing corporate training materials for software applications can be a lengthy and resource-intensive process. This is particularly true for organizations managing numerous software licenses. Yoav Einav, an entrepreneur based in Tel Aviv, recognized the need for a more efficient and cost-effective solution. He collaborated with Dan Sahar to explore the potential of creating software training videos in a new way. Their efforts culminated in the 2020 launch of a startup called Guidde.

How Guidde Leverages Artificial Intelligence

Guidde utilizes AI to automatically generate video tutorials demonstrating software usage. The system captures a user’s actions within an application and then converts this recording into a structured video with a clear narrative.

Videos created with Guidde can be enhanced with optional features. These include AI-generated voiceovers in various languages, background music, and visual cues highlighting key software functionalities. The platform also provides fundamental video editing capabilities, such as transitions, frame adjustments, and cropping.

Guidde’s platform now serves over 100,000 users across 2,000 organizations, including American Eagle Outfitters, Carta, and Nasdaq.

Addressing Employee Engagement with Training Content

A key question arises: are training videos actually watched by employees? Data from a 2019 Kaltura survey reveals that 67% of employees admit to not fully concentrating on in-house training videos, often skimming or multitasking while viewing them.

Einav attributes this to a combination of factors. He suggests that many training videos lack compelling production quality. Furthermore, these videos are frequently difficult to locate within complex software interfaces.

Introducing Guidde Broadcast: Personalized Training Delivery

To improve engagement, Guidde recently introduced Guidde Broadcast. This feature delivers tailored training content directly to employees. Einav describes it as a “Netflix for organizations,” aiming to boost software adoption through contextual, “just-in-time” learning within the user’s workflow.

Growth and Future Plans

Guidde has experienced substantial growth, with revenue increasing fourfold in the past year. The company’s success has attracted further investment.

This month, Guidde secured $15 million in funding led by Qualcomm Ventures, bringing the total raised to $30 million. These funds will be allocated to expanding the platform’s localization tools, strengthening the sales and customer success teams, and increasing its global reach.

Einav emphasizes the company’s financial prudence. He states that a conservative approach has been effective thus far. Guidde’s vision is to become a leader in the integration of AI-driven, video-first content creation and delivery, establishing a new standard for immersive learning experiences.
