Google Veo 3.1 Released: Enhanced Video Editing with Flow

Google Unveils Veo 3.1: Enhanced Video Generation Capabilities
Google has announced the release of its next-generation video model, Veo 3.1. This update brings significant improvements to audio generation, provides more precise editing functionalities, and enhances the quality of image-to-video conversions.
Building on Veo 3
According to Google, Veo 3.1 represents a progression from the Veo 3 release in May. The new model is designed to produce more lifelike video clips and demonstrate improved adherence to user-provided prompts.
Advanced Editing Features
The model empowers users to seamlessly integrate new objects into videos, ensuring they visually align with the existing clip's aesthetic. Furthermore, a forthcoming update to Flow will enable the removal of unwanted objects from videos.
Expanded Functionality with Audio
Veo 3 already offered editing tools like incorporating reference images to guide character design. It also allowed users to define the beginning and end frames for AI-generated clips, and extend existing footage based on its final frames. Now, with Veo 3.1, audio accompaniment is being added to all these features, resulting in more dynamic and engaging video content.
Availability and Usage
The rollout of Veo 3.1 is occurring across several platforms. These include Google's video editor, Flow, the Gemini App, as well as through Vertex and Gemini APIs.
Since Flow's initial launch in May, users have collectively generated over 275 million videos within the application.
