Amazon Q Business: Build Public Chatbots | Latest Updates

Amazon Enables Public Chatbots with Q Business
Amazon is now encouraging businesses to develop publicly accessible chatbots leveraging its Q Business assistant.
The company announced on Wednesday that Q Business, its AI assistant hosted on AWS capable of answering inquiries, generating summaries, and executing tasks, now accommodates access for users without requiring logins.
This development empowers AWS customers to construct Q Business chatbots for platforms like websites and support centers.
These chatbots can assist customers in locating documentation, completing self-service actions, and more.
Expanding Accessibility with Anonymous Access
According to Amazon’s official blog, this feature allows visitors to utilize the generative AI capabilities of Amazon Q Business to swiftly obtain product details, receive technical support, and resolve problems.
With this new functionality, applications built with Amazon Q Business can be created with an anonymous user mode, eliminating the need for authentication and making content available to the public.
Configuration and Pricing
Users can configure a Q Business chatbot to process support materials or other relevant content, ensuring the bot’s responses are well-informed.
Applications utilizing Q Business with anonymous access are subject to a consumption-based pricing structure, as stated by the company.
Evolution of Q Business and Amazon's AI Strategy
Over the past two years since its initial release, Amazon has rebranded Q Business and incorporated “agentic” capabilities.
These enhancements include the ability to autonomously perform tasks for users across various third-party applications.
Amazon views Artificial Intelligence as a crucial component of its overarching growth strategy.
CEO Andy Jassy recently indicated that the company is currently developing over 1,000 generative AI applications.
Furthermore, Amazon’s AI revenue is experiencing “triple-digit” year-over-year growth, currently representing a “multi-billion-dollar annual revenue run rate.”
