t-mobile launches new tvision streaming bundles, pricing starts at $10 per month

T-Mobile is introducing a series of streamlined live television and streaming packages designed to challenge the high costs associated with conventional cable television services.

The company has been expanding its presence in the television sector, beginning with the acquisition of Layer3 and the subsequent introduction of TVision Home the previous year. This initial offering resembled traditional cable, with pricing beginning at $100 per month and limited geographic availability. (T-Mobile also provides complimentary Netflix access with certain family plans.)

The newly released TVision options are more accessible in terms of price and wider in distribution. The most economical choice is TVision Vibe, providing access to over 30 live and on-demand channels, including AMC, BET, Discovery, Food Network, Hallmark, HGTV, MTV and TLC, for a monthly fee of $10.

For a higher price point, TVision Live delivers live news and sports programming. It begins at $40 per month and features a different selection of over 30 channels – ABC, FOX, NBC, Turner, ESPN, among others – with TVision Live+ at $50 per month and TVision Live Zone at $60 per month adding even more channels to the package. (By comparison, YouTube TV is priced at $65 monthly and Hulu + Live TV at $55 monthly.) Subscribers who choose Live+ or Live Zone between November 1st and December 31st will receive a complimentary year of Apple TV+.

Additionally, customers can subscribe to individual streaming services such as Starz, Showtime and Epix through TVision Channels.

These new TVision services are compatible with devices running Android and Apple operating systems, as well as Amazon Fire TV. T-Mobile is also releasing a new streaming media player, the TVision Hub, priced at $50, which connects to televisions via HDMI.

“With TVision, you can eliminate cable, reduce expenses, and simplify your entertainment,” stated Dow Draper, T-Mobile’s executive vice president of emerging products, in a press release.
